Being a ZTA
The purpose of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity as stated in the charter granted by the Virginia State Legislature is to: "Intensify friendship, foster a spirit of love, create such sentiments, perform such deeds, and mold such opinions as will conduce to the building up of a purer and nobler womanhood in the world."
Simply stated, your relationship with Zeta Tau Alpha helps improve your scholastic potential, teaches you the acts of good citizenship, develops the qualities of patience and understanding, and aids in your personality development. You will develop through your fraternity experience which serves to bring to the surface those qualities which are already within you and to compliment your personality.
Our rituals are the one bond we have in common with ZTA sisters that span both the miles and the ages. Thus they should be entered into with dignity. Thousands of ZTAs have gone through the same ritual services throughout the years, and it is our most important common bond.
"ZTA means more than just friends that I know I can sit with at dinner or at the library. These girls will drop anything if you need something and have become my family since I joined. These are friendships that will last beyond college and I know I will be at their weddings and Aunties to their children."
